INTRODUCTION TO BONSAI WORKSHOP
A one on one workshop where we will first go through what to look for in choosing a pre-bonsai. We will then sit down and discuss styling options, from picking the front of the tree, to which branches to use, to creating an apex. We will then wire and style the tree. This will be a great workshop for not only the beginner but also those needing help in any aspect of styling a tree. The workshop will last 2-3 hours, cost will be $50.00, plus the price of tree.Wire and soil included. Pots are available for sale if you chose to pot your tree.
As usual Linda will have coffee and something delicious for the early birds, fruits and snacks for the munchies with soda, water and pizza for lunch if you want it. Pizza is $5.00 some people pack a lunch. And who knows what delectable thing someone might bring for us. The cost is only $25.00 for the workshop including soil and wire, within reason. If you are more experienced and just want styling ideas or help with wiring or potting you can bring up to three trees. If you are a novice and want to learn how to create a bonsai we recommend you concentrate on just one tree, it takes awhile to completely style a tree. Newcomers are not yet capable of doing much of the hands on work themselves, and we like to take the time to explain what we are doing as we do it. This is not only good for them, but it helps even the more experienced learn more tips on wiring, styling and such. As people gain experience we want them to do more of the work themselves, then I will assist them in styling their tree.
This is a workshop for you to learn how to, not for us to do all the work for you. Experience is the best teacher. Our desire is to help you learn the art of bonsai.
Pre-bonsai trees and all supplies are available. Observers are welcome at no charge, so come spend the day or just a few hours. You can come anytime between the hours of 9:00-3:00. We have set up an area where we can take before and after pictures of the trees we work on. If you want us to, we can e-mail your pictures to you.

The second part time permitting, will be for anyone that has a forest they would like a little styling advice on.
FOLLOW UP FOREST WORKSHOP
FEBRUARY 18
. These sessions will be for those that want to learn more on styling a bonsai tree. To be able to look at untrained material and find the tree within, also on how to improve an already styled tree. The format is: We will spend the morning in a round table discussion, where every tree will be discussed by all attending. This will enable everyone to learn from all the input on each tree. I cannot think of a better way for anyone to learn the art of bonsai, this will be like a monthly study group session. At times we will bring in other artists to join in on the discussion, there will be an additional charge then to cover the expenses of doing so. After the discussion, (time permitting) you may have the opportunity to work on your tree and we will be available to assist if you need.
The session will be limited to 10 people, one tree per person and is by reservation only, you will need to contact us and reserve your place. The cost will be $25.00. No materials will be furnished. We will not be asking for this in advance unless we start getting too many people not showing up. Being a limited workshop means that when you sign up we are counting on you to come, if you don’t, that means someone who would have wanted to would not be able and that would not be fair to them.
